Italians were masters of designing furniture using bamboo & wicker - abundant in the Mediterranean region. This rare set from the 1970s showcases the material's flexibility and wide design artistry. A series of constructed panels of bamboo with a perfect grid geometry - all tied together with dark oiled leather strapping instead of traditional wicker. Two panels for the side legs and one long panel that extends the entire length of the back. Outdoor upholstered seating. Italy, 1970s.
