55" tall-back trône chair with zoomorphic carvings
Found in Northern France - so likely made there, probably a 1930s/40s rural production. We imagine a carpenter's shop creating a simple square form chair with a slatted back and seat. Organically sculpted arms and a lower stretcher for support. Of course the best part is the added zoomorphic carvings - on one side a sinuous snake wraps and crests over the top with a paired dragons head showing white bone teeth. Couldn't resist this one.
