VERNER PANTON
Panthella 160 Portable Lamp, 1970s design, Denmark
Panthella 160 Portable Lamp, 1970s design, Denmark
Designed by Verner Panton in 1971 with Louis Poulsen, the Panthella is one of Panton’s most significant designs, with both the stand and shade serving as light reflectors for glare-free illumination.
The Panthella 160 Portable Lamp is a scaled-down version of the original, measuring 160 mm in diameter. Its translucent opal acrylic shade softly diffuses light while the trumpet-shaped base reflects light upward into the shade. The rechargeable lamp features a touch-sensitive button for dimming and on/off control, with up to 8.5 hours of light at full brightness.
