LATE 1930S ITALIAN
rationalist walnut & metal desk
rationalist walnut & metal desk
An early modernist desk produced in the 1930s Italy during the Rationalist period of architecture and design. Rationalist designers aimed to break away from the historical styles and ornamentation of the past, favoring instead a more functional and industrial approach. This desk has classic Bauhaus elements of clean lines and highly functional. Beautiful walnut used overall with an inset side leg and four right-side drawers over plinth base - all with simple rounded dowel-form handles. Chromed metal foot rest also provides additional desk stability.
