Flexible Love chair, accordion recycled paper & wood

The Flexible Love chair was created in 2005 by Taiwanese designer Chishen Chiu, who was trained in both industrial design and architecture. Chiu was inspired by the structural properties of honeycomb cardboard, which he had encountered while working in a factory producing cardboard pallets. He saw potential for the material to be used in furniture that was transformable, portable, and sustainable. This chair is made from recycled paper and wood waste formed into a honeycomb structure, laminated for durability - with an accordion-fold feature that expands in a curve, functioning as a bench, chair, or even a sculptural seating element.
