While this armchair c1915 is rooted in the Art Nouveau design period - it really takes on a more Arts & Crafts viewpoint that was termed National Romanticism in Denmark. Solid oakwood frame with curved flat-panel arms over an otherwise square-form frame. The shield-like silhouette to the black leather back has a Gothic feel with metal nailhead trim - and repeated to the leather seating. Produced c1910 and labeled for Nordiska Kompaniet, Sweden.
