solid oakwood Art Nouveau dining table
Nantes-born Léon Jallot (1874-1967) studied decorative art in his early career and was strongly influenced by the Art Nouveau design period. His established his own workshop, Atelier Jallot, in 1907 - and brought Arts & Crafts value into his work. A notable example is this nearly square dining table in solid oakwood that has a beautifully trimmed top. The structural arched trestle leg has a central stretcher connected with visible keyed tenon joint on both sides. France, c1910.
