Designed by the Austrian pioneering furniture company founded by German-Austrian cabinetmaker Michael Thonet in the mid-19th century. His developed technique of steam bending wood was revolutionary. These tabouret stools were widely used as piano seats with a metal pin for adjustable height and the classic bentwood legs with lower circular stretcher. c1910 Gebrüder Thonet, Austria.
