LATE 1940S DANISH
oakwood cabinet on stand w/ drop down compartment
oakwood cabinet on stand w/ drop down compartment
A very interesting Danish cabinet that sits between the emerging Danish modernist designs and Scandinavian folk traditions. Likely 1940s production and constructed in oakwood with a beautiful booked matched veneer to the top doors and open cabinet & shelves. The lower compartment has a drop-down front with small central pull-out drawers. Its most interesting feature is the round wood pull with an incised six-point star - which places this in a rural tradition - a protective motif. Images are as found - price includes full refinishing.
