For French design - the importance of Villauris can not be understated - not a factory, instead - a small town on the Côte d'Azur, between Cannes and Antibes, where hundreds of ceramic artists worked during the postwar decades.  The area has produced pottery since Roman times because of its exceptional clay deposits and abundant pine forests, which supplied fuel for the kilns.  This set of bentwood cylinder stools were produced by Raymonde Leduc who had her studio in the area in the 1960s.  Each with earthenware tiles with pressed organic material decor.  Sold individually.
