An unusual piece from Italy c1935-1940 that was probably made as a small bar/service cabinet - but with tons of style. Taking the same late Art Deco into Rationalist design aesthetic typical of Italian pre-war furniture - with a thick top extended shelf/back covered in a rich and highly figural radica di noce (walnut burl). The lower circular shelf support and side cabinet in a contrasting olive wood with marble-like figuring. Cabinet has one interior shelf and opened with an original nickel-plated brass pull - and all supported on an ebonized base
