pair mahogany side tables w/Bing & Grøndahl porcelain tops
An unusual pair of Danish side tables, apparently purpose-built to display pictorial porcelain tops by Bing & Grøndahl. Each top features a continuous architectural or landscape composition assembled from individual porcelain tiles and framed by a decorative raised border. The mahogany bases are deliberately restrained, with slender tapered legs and subtly shaped shoulders beneath the aprons, allowing the porcelain to take center stage. Unknown table manufacture - Denmark 1940s-1950s.
