Ludvig Pontoppidan (1883–1970) came from a family with a strong tradition of craftsmanship. He collaborated with prominent architects and designers such as Kaare Klint and opened his own Copenhagen design studio in 1923. This 3-seat sofa produced at his own factory in the 1950s has classic Danish modernist styling with clean lines and an elegant form. Later upholstery in blue wool for the sides are complimented with a blue/brown stripe wool for seating and buttoned back. Mahogany legs. Made by cabinetmaker Ludvig Pontoppidan, Copenhagen.
