1970S OTTO ZAPF
sculptural light leather lounge and ottoman, Germany
sculptural light leather lounge and ottoman, Germany
Otto Zapf was one of Germany's most influential industrial designers. In 1959 he co-founded Vitsœ + Zapf with Niels Vitsœ. Their best known collaborated was with Knoll International - designing large collections including pioneering the Zapf Office System, one of the earliest modular fabric-panel office systems. This large generous lounge chair was likely from his private designs outside of Knoll - with a tall back and thoughtful ergonomic support. An absolutely gorgeous honey tan leather with matching ottoman and fully ribbed back. Vertically channeled beechwood leg support. Germany 1970s.
