Yngve Ekström (1913-1988) was exposed to cabinetmaking at a young age and by 1945 founded his own firm ESE-möbler (later Swedese). His ergonomic "Lamino" lounge chair became an icon of Swedish furniture design and is still produced by Swedese today.
