painted wood hall/coat stand, Italy
painted wood hall/coat stand, Italy
The visionary industrialist Luigi Sormani (1932-2017) started his own design/manufacturing firm in Arosio Italy in 1961 with a focus on automation. His passion for new materials infused his ideas with functional style. This hall stand is architectural in shape with three soft-edge panels in contrasting white lacquered and natural stained walnut that pivot on the base to allow for greater capacity. Plastic hooks are perfectly placed. White-painted umbrella stand at base with metal cups - all supported by a walnut plinth. Asorio Italy, 1970s.
