Néo-Rustique solid oakwood and leather lounge chair
Néo-Rustique solid oakwood and leather lounge chair
This is an excellent example of a French “brutalist” oak lounge chair from the late 1960s to mid-1970s, part of the neo-rustic movement that grew from France’s postwar fascination with natural materials and handcraft traditions. Heavy solid oakwood tall back frame, thick armrests and nicely sculpted legs. Upholstered in a gorgeous cognac buttoned leather with generous proportions. Likely an artisanal workshop in Brittany.
