Arne Norell was a Swedish furniture designer celebrated for his experimental work with leather, turned woods, and “knock-down” safari-style construction. He founded his company Norell Möbel AB in 1958 in Aneby, Sweden. His celebrated "Sirocco" chair (1964) was inspired by British military campaign furniture with dowel construction supporting black leather seating. This version with cognac leather over solid beechwood frame. Early 1970s production, pair available, sold individually.
