desk in walnut & black glass, Italy
desk in walnut & black glass, Italy
An exceptional desk by the Italian cabinetmaker's son Vittorio Dassi - who went on to a become a prolific modernist furniture designer starting in the late 1940s - including his long collaboration with Gio Ponti, among others. Details abound in this mid-century desk. The walnut sides are angled to highlight the pair of floating cases on each side beveled in satinwood. Each side has three drawers with contrasting light trim and half-round fluted brass pulls. The top is a black glass insert with wood trim, rounded at the corners. Produced by Mobilificio Dassi in Lissone, Italy.
