metal framed "Arco" sideboard for Olivetti
Studio BBPR was formed in Milan by four architects (Barbiano Di Belgiojoso, Peressutti, Rogers)) in 1932 who were to become part of the Italian resistance movement. This console is a perfect example of their post-war industrial office design. Primary case in metal with channeled plastic sliding doors at front. Black painted metal revere "Y" shape side legs. "Floating" console top in black imitation leather with plastic corner supports.
Produced in the 1960s by Olivetti at their factory compound in Ivrea, Italy. The Arco series won the Compasso d'Oro Award in 1962.
