In 1921 Paolo Venini (1895-1959) opened his first glass factory on the islands of Murano, the historic Venice lagoon glass production centre - and quickly became one of Italy's leading glass designers. Always sculptural and bright - this example is a pair of impressive yet simple wall sconces, each with seven amber to opaque glass tubes in an array - mounted to white-painted metal supports. Two light sockets per sconce. Attributed to Venini, 1950s Italy. Sold as a pair.
