1950S OLE WANSCHER
36" nut wood coffee table w/two extensions
36" nut wood coffee table w/two extensions
Ole Wanscher was one of Denmark’s most refined and academically grounded furniture designers, belonging to the generation often called the “Golden Age of Danish Modern.” This modernist side or coffee table is constructed in Honduras mahogany which he used for its warm tonality and long grain pattern. Rounded at the ends over a slender base with angled legs and a gently curved cross stretcher. Fitting under the table is a pair of leaves in a contrasting nut wood that extend the top from 35" to 60" - marked and produced by Danish master cabinetmaker Fritz Hansen.
