1950S LUIGI SCREMIN
ashwood & marble table w/dowel decor
ashwood & marble table w/dowel decor
An exceptional 40" center table by Italian architect and designer Luigi Scremin (1896-1983). He is best known for allegorical and humorous scenic inlays to his furniture work, particularly cabinetry. This table is something else - it's a wonder. For its base - a delicate solid ashwood frame with long conical legs and central cross stretchers for support. Along the sides is a series of half-round dowels. As for the top - a 40" diameter solid marble disk of such intensity that it look like the beginning of the cosmos in fiery filaments of blues, browns and golds. Produced in 1950s at his own factory F.lli Scremin in Bellumo Italy.
