Art Deco design mahogany & glass dressing table
Art Deco design mahogany & glass dressing table
Very likely a post-war dressing able with an Art Deco design language updated to more modernist tastes. Purchased in Denmark - but this hybrid style at the time was also popular in France & Belgium. A bright mahogany veneer to the case - five stacked drawers on the right and a curved vertical cabinet at left with a single door. Black glass top, stepped plinth and rounded corners are in keeping with Deco taste, but also became fashionable again in the 1950s for vanities and desks. Perfect black bakelite handles. Price includes a refinish.
