1950S CARL-AXEL ACKING
"Trienna" saddle leather & oak armchair
"Trienna" saddle leather & oak armchair
One of our favorite campaign style chairs and easily the most famous of designs by Swedish architect Carl-Axel Acking (1910-2001). Created for the Swedish presentation at Milan Triennial in 1957 using a clean and disciplined modern frame of solid oakwood. The beautifully stitched cognac saddle leather seating is wrapped around and the thru the frame in an ergonomic sling. Great leather patina. Produced by Nordiska Kompaniet, Sweden, late 1950s with a limited run - making this a wonderfully rare piece of design history.
