modernist traditional revival spindle armchair
modernist traditional revival spindle armchair
An unusual chair design from the 1940s - either Danish or Swedish small carpentry shop - produced during a time when traditional rural forms were revived using a softer design pallet. A solid mahogany base with slender legs terminating in diminutive ball feet support generous seating and a tall back. Sculpted arms in solid walnut. The most interesting feature is the tapered spindles that connect as a continued wave under the arms and along the back. Loose cushions in need of new upholstery. Priced as is... ready for your fabric choice.
