1940S FRITS HENNINGSEN
red mohair upholstered and mahogany armchair
red mohair upholstered and mahogany armchair
This is a late 1930s to early 1940s example of the emerging Scandinavian modernist furniture movement seen through the lens of a more classically trained master Danish cabinetmaker Frits Henningsen (1889-1965). The chair has generous proportions but maintains a slender form with sculpted and tailored detailing. Fully upholstered in a red mohair over nicely carved mahogany legs. Produced in his Copenhagen workshop. Nice vintage condition.
