One of the leading lights of the Scandinavian modernist movement, Børge Mogensen (1914-1972) also had an early focus on folk craft, function, and democratic design, before his more refined mid-century modern work gained international attention. This set of six dining chairs in a more simplified Windsor style with Danish rural character. Solid stained beech, turned legs, curved saddle seat, and steam-bent hoop back with vertical spindles. Model J 3. Manufactured and marked by Tarm - Stole og Møbelfabrik for FDB. Denmark, c1945.
