A very interesting 1940s side table that we found in Sweden. Beautifully carved side legs in a dark-stained root birchwood in a lyre form with applied vertical wood design bead along the edges. Top in contrasting veneers: a central diamond in walnut burl that is matched on the ends. A lighter primary field in birch or ashwood. Quite gorgeous.
