adjustable armchair in birchwood, Sweden
adjustable armchair in birchwood, Sweden
Bengt Östnäs was a trained architect from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm - who also designed a small number of furniture pieces with fellow architect Sune Lindström. This rare armchair is from the 1930s to early 1940s and constructed in dark stained birchwood with rootwood accents. Classic modernist styling with arched arms over a slightly declining seat. Fully upholstered including the back panel. The seat is adjustable with support by a metal rod that adds visual texture from the back. Sweden.
Pair available, sold individually.
