In 1930s Sweden, smoking tables became a very popular part of parlour modernism — furniture intended for social ritual and modest luxury. This late Art Deco example uses light-hued birch rootwood with a contrasting burl walnut veneer over the relatively square cabinet construction. It has two cabinets with an original key, two open corner shelves and a two small top drawers opened with a round metal pull. The top in a bright birch with central floral intarsia.
