1930S JINDŘICH HALABALA
classic bentwood model H-269 armchair
classic bentwood model H-269 armchair
Jindřich Halabala (1903–1978) wanted to make “modern” design available to the middle class - with bentwood craftsmanship and modernist styling. The 269 chair is Halabala’s most iconic model from the 1930s and one of the most recognizable pieces of 20th-century Czech design. Sweeping bent beechwood arms in a dramatic loop supports a fully upholstered seating with short angled legs. Recently upholstered in a striking blue men's suiting fabric. Produced at UP Závody in Brno, Czech.
Sold individually, pair available.
