1930S GIORGIO WENTER MARINI
2-part maple burl & walnut cabinet, Italy
2-part maple burl & walnut cabinet, Italy
Giorgio Wenter Marini (1890–1973) was an Italian architect and designer known for balancing rationalist clarity with Art Deco luxury. This 2-part cabinet has clean lines, geometric forms and architectural structuring consistent with 1930s rational design while the vivid golden figured maple burl shows classic Art Deco opulence. Upper portion has a top pair of cabinets and a central drop-down door exposing an open cabinet and internal drawers - two long lower drawers - all with restrained metal pulls. Contrasting walnut plinth base is mirrored to the top of each case. Exceptional 1930s Italian design.
