1930S DANISH
pair of exceptional leather tufted club chairs
pair of exceptional leather tufted club chairs
An exceptional pair of Danish club chairs from the 1930s taking clues from a number of transitional pre-modern styles including English club chair comfort and continental Art Deco restraint - and translating both through Copenhagen cabinetmaker discipline. Constructed in barrel form in a beautiful red/brown aniline leather with deep diamond tufting and short rounded bun feet in solid beechwood. Non-original upholstered seat and brass tacks overall. Likely Copenhagen based cabinetmaker. Price includes updating seat upholstery. Velvet currently planned.
Sold as a pair.
