1930S DANISH
pair of exceptional leather tufted club chairs
pair of exceptional leather tufted club chairs
An exceptional pair of Danish club chairs from the 1930s taking clues from a number of transitional pre-modern styles including English club chair comfort and continental Art Deco restraint - translating both through Copenhagen cabinetmaker discipline. Constructed in barrel form in a beautiful red/brown aniline leather with deep diamond tufting and short rounded bun feet in solid beechwood. Recently updated in velvet seating, with striking brass tack detailing overall. Likely Copenhagen based cabinetmaker.
Sold as a pair.
