3-drawer rootwood & Verde Alpi marble dresser
3-drawer rootwood & Verde Alpi marble dresser
The exquisite artist Gaetano Borsani (1850–1953) created his first design shop, the Atelier di Varedo, after the turn of the century in Verano Italy. He is known for blending traditional artisanal techniques with the evolving Art Deco style - often featuring luxurious materials and a meticulous attention to detail. This example from the late 1920s shows the richness of his designs. Constructed primarily in walnut rootwood with three long drawers displaying signature Art Deco geometric design to the front and hand carved button pulls. A wonderful overlapping chevron decorative wood detail to the base. Topped with luscious Italian Verde Alpi marble. Produced for Atelier di Varedo by Mobili d'Arte, Varedo, Italy.
