transitional Art Deco game table in Macassar ebony
German architect and designer Bruno Paul (1874–1968) worked in the transitional period between Art Deco and early the Bauhaus movement. This square form game table is constructed using a stunning radial-matched Macassar ebony veneer top with rounded corners over dark-stained solid beechwood legs turned inward. It was produced c1930 in Munich by Vereinigte Werkstätten für Kunst im Handwerk (where Paul was director).
