Austrian architect and designer Gustav Siegel (1880-1970) trained under Josef Hoffmann and was one of the first designers to create bentwood furniture that combined Vienna Secession elegance with the industrial production techniques of Thonet and Kohn. This pair of Vienna Secessionist armchairs has sinuous arms and bentwood arches under the seat. Constructed using solid beechwood with a beautiful golden hued stain - later plaid upholstery. Produced in Vienna by Jacob & Josef Kohn, c1910-1915.
