1960S ARNOLD MADSEN
light tufted leather Model MS68 lounge chair, Denmark
light tufted leather Model MS68 lounge chair, Denmark
Arnold Madsen (1907–1989) is a slightly elusive but increasingly recognized Danish designer. He was trained as an upholsterer - which informs his attention to furniture design detail. This Model MS68 is one of his more recognizable - departing from classic Scandinavian lines with a low cocoon shell seating. Wrapped entirely in a light tufted leather without arms - incorporating swivel, rocking and reclining mechanisms - all over a five point rosewood base. Executed by Madsen & Schubell, Denmark.
