Swedish Grace movement, Sweden's distinctive interpretation of Art Deco combined classical restraint, craftsmanship, and exotic veneers with refined geometric decoration. This gorgeous 3-drawer chest from the 1920s is by Birger Ekman (1905–1999) includes a radiant root wood case and flame birch drawer fronts. Its distinctive character comes from the inlay decor in walnut, mahogany, and stained fruitwood with ebonized linework and brass escutcheons. Executed by the firm Mjölby Intarsia in the SW of Stockholm. Price includes a refinish of the chest, pending.
