Hans Kaufeld founded his upholstered-furniture company in Bielefeld in late 1918. By the postwar period it had developed into a significant German producer of high-quality upholstered furniture, with a substantial export business. This black leather sectional has a classic low profile, completely upholstered plinths, padded shaped backs and arms, loose seat cushions over short conical wood legs. Constructed to be a perfect conversation system and includes a corner ottoman and a separate lounger chair. Black leather showing the original brown hide underneath with time and wear - perfect patina.
