Set four 1940s Giorgio Marini "Foru" chairs, Italy
This item is available by inquiry only
Italian artist and designer Giorgio Wenter Marini (1890-1973) produced a small range of furniture, often mixing square forms with organic materials - along with a range of other artistic expression. This set of dining chairs are made using solid cherrywood frames with an angled back supporting exaggerated triangular design to the seat back. Seats are hand-corded and woven hemp. Produced in 1947 for the Italian villa "Casa Menardi" in Cortina - now a resort. Set of four - necessary repairs to the seats will be complete upon arrival to Hudson.
