A fascinating pair of nightstands from the transitional Scandinavian design period from the late 1930s into the early 1940s. Probably Swedish and constructed with a primary case in walnut showing a layered “stepped” edges along the sides and front. Black lacquered top plate contrasts beautifully with the cream lacquered drawer front with perfectly complimentary round bakelite pulls. Angled black lacquered legs with lower stretch (could be later painting). Sold as a pair.
