A functional experiment designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) in 1933/34 using traditional solid bentwood birch framing with a black laminate top.  Four "L" shaped legs allow the stools to be alternate stacked in a spiral tower.  More recent manufactured by Artek, Finland.
