1960S EDOARDO DETTI
79" lacquered teakwood long bench
79" lacquered teakwood long bench
Influential Italian architect and designer from Florence, Edoardo Detti (1913 - 1984), combined modernist principles with a deep respect for traditional Italian craftsmanship. He was a longtime academic at the University of Florence. This long bench is highly functional and likely created for a commercial setting. Produced in solid teakwood with its original lacquer intact on the legs - leaving green coloration to some part of the teak grain with age. Top recently updated to a polished black for a nice contrast. Italy, 1960s.
