The influential and prolific Italian duo of Afra and Tobia Scarpa were innovators in furniture, architecture and industrial design creating iconic modernist pieces that remain deeply relevant today. Their Compasso d'Oro arrived in 1970s for the Soriana chair for Cassina. This pair of lounge chairs often used in outdoor settings have low beechwood frames with visible joinery, a cantilevered back including criss-crossing elastic cording. Original upholstery in need of cleaning - will be complete shortly. Produced by Figli di Amedeo Cassina, Meda, Italy starting in 1967.
