Danish furniture designer Børge Mogensen (1914-1972) played a significant role in defining Danish modern design in the mid-20th century. His own studio dates to 1950 after which awards and accolade proliferated due to his attention to clean lines and a functional design aesthetic. His "Runner" chair is one of his most famous with square form oakwood framing and ergonomic seating. This example with classic gingham check pattern in a black, white and pale gray in good condition. Designed in 1956 with continuous production. Manufactured as Model 2254 and 2248 by Fredericia Stolefabrik. Later production.
