Having studied under Kaare Klint at the Danish Academy of Fine Art, carpenter Kai Kristiansen (b. 1929) went on to establish his own studio by 1955 - producing designs for some of the leading Scandinavian manufactures of the modernist era. This stylish desk is constructed in teakwood with classic proportions and the use of double tambour doors on the right that wrap around the kidney desk shape. Three left side drawers and three pull out drawers behind the right tambour door. At back is a 2nd about door case and a pair of open shelves. Exceptional design. Produced by Gunnar Nielsen in Denmark, 1950s.
