Born Giuseppe Pogatschnig (1896-1945) in Parenzo, Istria (now Croatia) who fled to Italy 1915 and adopted an Italian name.  He was a noted architect, designer and photographer.  This 61" desk has uniquely designed structure using four bent beechwood loops that connect all components.  A pair of 4-drawer cases in mahogany on either side and a simple floating mahogany top.  Manufactured by the Italian firm of Gino Maggioni.
