The bobbin tradition comes from 17th century Northern European designs that were intended to add an ornamental flourish and elegance to furniture pieces.  This pair has a dark-stained oakwood frame with "bobbin" carved legs and seat backs that are nicely arched & flaired. Classic corded and woven rush seating.  Likely produced in England 1920s.
