A rare and exceptional set of chairs and matching table by the Italian artist Melchiorre Melis (1889-1982). Using a durable Siberian larchwood each piece has detailed hand carvings along the legs and sides. Chair backs are connected via metal rod, allowing for movement. Red leather seating with brass tack detail. Sold as a set, two chairs and one table. Dimensions below are for chairs. Coffee table is 25.2" height, 25.6" width, 25.2" depth. 1920s, Italy.
